FIAMMISAYS: YES AND NO of JANUARY 2013 (THE SKIING TIME)

Here we are…. this is the SEVENTH appointment with my section “FIAMMISAYS” started on July 2012. For an introduction and brief description of my new “adventure”, take a look HERE (you can find there all the others appointments)

Eccoci… questo è il SETTIMO appuntamento con la mia rubrica “FIAMMISAYS” partita a Luglio 2012. Per una introduzione e breve descrizione di questa mia nuova “avventura”, guarda QUI (ci puoi trovare tutti gli altri appuntamenti)

MOTHER
(for those who, like me, love to ski and can not wait to go to the mountains with the whole family   – per chi, come me, adora sciare e non vedo l’ora di andare in montagna con tutta la famiglia)

YES TO:

• THE FUR VEST, I know that you bought it and, yet, you have not had the courage to wear it! Now that you’re going to the mountains, take it out from the bottom of your closet and take it with you. It will be fine for the day on your jacket (down) and will be perfect for the evening on any kind of sweater.
• IL GILET DI PELLICCIA, lo so che lo hai acquistato e, ancora, non hai avuto il coraggio di metterlo!! Adesso che stai per andare in montagna, tiralo fuori dal fondo dell’armadio e portalo con te. Andrà benissimo di giorno sopra la tua giacca (piumino) e sarà perfetto di sera sopra un qualsiasi maglioncino.

• THE SWEATER WITH BRAIDS, what more than a great, warm and comfortable sweater with braids, gives you the pleasure to feel in the mountains?? This year they are all the rage, so it should not be very hard to find them, but who do not have an old, reassuring sweater on his closet? If you are not convinced of your own, take advantage of sales and buy one in cashmere, it will be forever. A white one would be ideal..
• IL MAGLIONE CON LE TRECCE, cosa più di un grande, caldo e comodo maglione a coste, ti dà il piacere di sentirti in montagna??? Quest’anno sono di gran moda, quindi non dovrai fare molta fatica a trovarne, ma chi non ha nell’armadio un vecchio, rassicurante maglione?? Se non sei convinta del tuo, approfitta dei saldi ed acquistane uno di cachemire, sarà per sempre. Bianco sarebbe l’ideale.

• THE LUREX for the evening. To avoid walking around with improbable mini and heel 12 in the mountains (I’ve seen a lot, then, to capitulate on the first sheet of ice), if you want to feel in keeping with the night life in mountain, I think the lurex is perfect. With a nice pair of leggings (in lurex) with an oversized sweater or a little sweater (in lurex), even high-necked, with a pair of palazzo pants, you’ll solve, with elegance, the fashionable evenings.
• IL LUREX per la sera. Onde evitare di andare in giro con improbabili minigonne e tacco 12 in montagna (ne ho viste tante, poi capitolare sulla prima lastrina di ghiaccio), se vuoi sentirti in tema con le serate mondane montanare, credo che il lurex sia perfetto. Un bel paio di leggings (in lurex) con un maglione oversize o un maglioncino (in lurex), magari a collo alto, con un paio di pantaloni palazzo, ti risolveranno, con eleganza, le serate modaiole.

NO TO:

• THE FUR BAG, let’s talk seriously. So, it will be beautiful, soft, warm, nice, but look at me … how many times you will wear it?? You will come back from the mountain and, unless you have a cat that feels the lack of a friend, you will put away it in the closet until NEVERMORE. So, unless you have already thrown your money, forget it and think of a beautiful leather bag suitable for ALWAYS A and also for the mountain.
• LA BORSA DI PELLICCIA, parliamo seriamente. Dunque, sarà bella, soffice, calda, simpatica, ma, guardami bene…quante altre volte te la metterai??? Torni dalla montagna e, a meno che tu non abbia un gatto che sente la mancanza di un amico, la riporrai nell’armadio fino a MAI PIU’. Quindi, a meno che tu non abbia già buttato i tuoi soldi, lascia perdere e pensa ad una bella borsa di pelle adatta A SEMPRE ed anche alla montagna.

• THE MOON BOOTS, I know they were comfortable, they are hot, you do not slip on the ice of the mountain, but, really, I cannot look them. Come on, let’s leave them to the granny, you, who are just mom, opt for UGG, MOU, TIMBERLAND, SNEAKERS WITH FUR,  HIKING BOOTS, WHAT YOU WANT .. but not the MOON BOOTS. If you just can not resist, leave at home the famous jeans with spats and the Monlcler or with a pair of shoulder pads, you will be mistaken for the girlfriend of Simon Le Bon!!
• I MOON BOOTS,  lo so che sono comodi, sono caldi, non si scivola sui ghiacci della montagna, ma, proprio, non si guardano. Dai, su, li lasciamo alla nonna, tu che sei appena mamma, opta per UGG, MOU, TIMBERLAND, SNEAKERS con PELLICCIA, SCARPONCELLI DA TREKKING, QUELLO CHE TI PARE..ma non i MOON BOOTS. Se proprio non puoi resistere, lascia a casa i celeberrimi jeans con le ghette ed il Monlcler o, con un paio di spalline, ti scambieranno per la fidanzata di Simon Le Bon!

• DESIGNER SKI GOGGLES, then, there are two ways, if you go skiing, buy it with the best lenses, believe me, with the fog, sometimes, it is hard even with the super professional ones, if you do not go skiing, avoid anything that makes you seems like a champion of the snow, while you’re not. In the latter case, a pair of sunglasses (and go ahead for the “fashion” brand in this case) will be perfect, and if it snowing, stay at the hotel and go to the SPA, you’ll see that the goggles will not be necessary!!
• LA MASCHERA DA SCI “FIRMATA”, dunque, le cose sono due, se vai a sciare, comprala tecnica, credimi, con la nebbia, a volte, è faticoso anche con quelle super professionali, se non vai a sciare, evita tutto quello che ti fa sembrare una provetta campionessa delle nevi, mentre non lo sei. In questo secondo caso, un paio di occhiali da sole (e vada pure per una marca fashion in questo caso) saranno perfetti e, se nevica, stai in albergo al centro benessere, vedrai che la maschera non ti servirà!!

DAUGHTER
(for those who, as Fiammetta, will soon be “thrown” on skis and has to find the right feel for the snow-  per chi, come Fiammetta, verrà presto “buttata” sugli sci e deve trovare la giusta confidenza con la neve)

YES TO:

• BOOTS WITH FUR INSIDE, ok for UGG, for MOU, NATURINO has made ​​some beautiful ones, in short, the ones you like, but I think they are very suitable for the mountains. They keep your daughter’s feet warm and, if treated with the right product, they are also waterproof. I know, they are a bit expensive, but they fit a little big, so if this year you take half size larger, they will do fine with a sock a little heavier and next year they will fit perfectly. ;-).
• GLI STIVALI CON LA PELLICCIA, vada per gli UGG, per i MOU, NATURINO ne ha fatti di bellissimi, insomma quelli che vuoi, ma credo che siano adattissimi per la montagna. Tengono i piedi caldi e, se trattati con il prodotto giusto, sono anche impermeabili. Lo so, sono un pò cari, ma vestono grandi, quindi, se quest’anno prendi un mezzo numero in più, andranno benissimo con un calzino un pò più pesante ed il prossimo anno saranno perfetti. ;-).

• THE SWEATERS WITH BEARS, I know, they are typically fot the mountain, but I like them to die …. a beautiful white sweater with a bear drawn and a pair of corduroy trousers are perfect for a night on the mountain. Even your little girl has to be chic, no? Without forgetting the comfort, however! I I got one by Baby Gap and you will soon see it in a outfi, I’m sure that you will find some as cute as mine.
• I MAGLIONI CON GLI ORSI, lo so, sono tipicamente montanari, ma a me piacciono da morire….un bel maglioncino bianco con un orso disegnato ed un paio di pantaloni di velluto saranno perfetti per una serata in montagna. Anche la tua bambina deve essere chic, no? Senza dimenticare la comodità, comunque!!! Io ne ho preso uno di BABYGAP e te lo farò presto vedere in un outfi; sono sicura che anche tu ne troverai di carinissimi.

• THE SHEARLING COAT,  love it! Got out the ski suit (or similar) that you’ll make wear your baby during the day, opt for the shearling coat for a ride in the afternoon or in the evening to go out to dinner, and she’ll be elegant, in theme and warm. I’ve seen several around and, given the sale, even at a good price. What are you waiting??
• LO SHEARLING, a me piace tantissimo!!! Tolta la tuta da sci (o simile) che farai indossare alla tua bambina durante il giorno, opta per lo shearling il pomeriggio per un giretto o la sera per uscire a cena, e lei sarà elegante, in tema ed al calduccio. Ne ho visti diversi in giro e, visti i saldi, anche a buon prezzo. Che aspetti??

NO TO:

• THE SKIRT WITHOUT TIGHTS, even if your daughter is sixteen years old and she runs away from the hotel to go to disco .. follow her and disallow her to take the bronchopneumonia. I’ve seen many girls make “exploding” veins from their legs just to be “dressed up” even in the mountains, but I did not think it was possible to condemn even the little girls. But … PLEASE, listen, put the leg warmers socks over the tights and not for tights … the pediatrician will thank you not to bother her at five o’clock at night because of the delirioum of your little creature.
• LA GONNA SENZA CALZE, nemmeno se la tua bambina ha sedici anni e ti scappa dall’albergo per andare in discoteca..seguila ed impediscile di prendere la broncopolmonite. Ne ho viste tante ragazze farsi “scoppiare” le vene dalle gambe pur di essere “in tiro” anche in montagna, ma non credevo fosse possibile condannare anche le bambine. E invece…TI PREGO, ascoltami, gli scaldamuscoli mettili sopra le calze e non al posto…la pediatra ti ringrazierà per non averla disturbata alle cinque di notte a causa del delirio della tua piccola creatura.

• THE JEANS ON THE SNOW, I know that ski suits for children are expensive, but it is more “expensive” a skiing week paid and passed at the hospital! The jeans on the snow get wet completely and, even if you put under three pairs of tights, the wet arrives the same in contact with the skin. If you have decided to spend a few days in the mountains and you do not want to spend so much on something that you will use only three times, I understand, then, do it borrowed from someone, there will be a friend, a relative, someone who has a ski suit to lend?? I think so.
• I JEANS SULLE NEVE,  lo so che le tute da sci per i bambini sono costose, ma è più “costosa” una settimana bianca pagata e passata all’ospedale!!! I jeans sulla neve si bagnano completamente e, anche se sotto ci metti tre paia di calze, il bagnato arriva lo stesso a contatto con la pelle. Se hai deciso di passare in montagna solo qualche giorno e non vuoi spendere tanto per qualcosa che userai solo tre volte, io lo capisco, quindi, fattela prestare da qualcuno, ci sarà un’amica, una parente, qualcuno insomma che ha una tutina da prestarti??? Credo proprio di sì.

• THE EARMUFFS, they’re cute, fashion, yeah, right?? And, according to you, does keep it warm? Come on … They are absolutely useless, I had them during the legendary 80 ‘and my mom was always desperate! A nice hat that covers your ears, is what it takes for the mountains or you risk of “freezing” the ideas to your beautiful girl!.”
• I PARAORECCHIE, sono carini, di moda, come no???? E, secondo te, tengono caldo?? Ma dai…Non servono assolutamente a niente, io li avevo durante i mitici anni 80′ e la mia mamma era sempre disperata!! Un bel cappello, che copra anche le orecchie, è quello che ci vuole per la montagna o rischi di “congelare” subito le idee alla tua meravigliosa bambina!!

SON
(for those who, like her sister, will soon be “thrown” on skis and has to find the right feel for the snow too-  per chi, come la sorella, verrà presto “buttato” sugli sci e, anche lui, deve trovare la giusta confidenza con la neve)

YES TO: 

• THE CORDUROY TROUSERS, beautiful and very suitable for little men for the evenings at the mountains. With a wonderful ribbed cardigan, a printed shirt and a pair of boots, your child will feel perfect even at high altitude. Ok in all colors.
• I PANTALONI DI VELLUTO,  bellissimi anche per i maschi ed adattissimi alle sere in montagna. Con un bel cardigan a coste, una camicia in fantasia ed un paio di scarponcelli il tuo bambino si sentirà perfetto anche in alta quota. Ok in tutti i colori.

• THE COLORS, COLORS, COLORS, I know that for the mountain the TOTAL WHITE is always perfect and trendy, but for the male, I also really like the super colorful. It is in stark contrast to the snow and it will make your child look less boring. I Propose for this sale a colorful down jacket (dare even with the strong colors) and yuo’ll be quiet ..ypu’ll find your child even in the fog …;-).
• I COLORI, COLORI, COLORI, lo so che per la montagna il TOTAL WHITE è sempre perfetto e alla moda, ma, per il maschio, mi piace tantissimo anche il super colorato. E’ in netto contrasto con la neve e renderà il look del vostro bambino meno noioso. Propongo per i saldi un coloratissimo piumino (osa pure con i colori forti) e starai tranquilla..ritroverai  il tuo bambino anche in mezzo alla nebbia…;-).

• THE BIG SCARF, the bigger, the better. Colored, with wide stripes, in the same print of the hat, in short, whatever. Born to heat and to cover your nose during the day on the snow, perfect to make lively and new an old sweater from which you just can not make separate your child.
• LA SCIARPONA, più grande è, meglio è. Colorata, a rigone, della stessa fantasia del cappello, insomma, come vuoi. Nata per riscaldare e coprire anche il naso di giorno sulla neve, perfetta per rendere più vivace e nuovo un vecchio maglioncino dal quale non riesci proprio a far separare tuo figlio.

NO TO:

• THE HATS WITH REINDEERS, or anything like that. There is still time for Carnival and if the intent is to find the right confidence with the snow for your child, when you see that even the snowmobile hints at a smile, you will understand that this was not the right way. Okay, they are children and they should be fun, but to make them ridiculous, bumps, however, their incredible sensitivity. Ok??
• I CAPPELLI CON LE RENNE, o cose del genere. C’è ancora tempo per Carnevale e se l’intento è far trovare a tuo figlio la giusta confidenza con la neve, quando vedrai che anche il gatto delle nevi accenna ad un sorriso, capirai che questa non era propria la strada giusta. Va bene che sono bambini e che si devono divertire, ma renderli ridicoli urta, comunque, la loro incredibile sensibilità. Ok??

• THE TRACKSUIT, I know you go away only a few days and certainly you do not want to take seven luggages, but do not wear your child three days with the tracksuit. He is on holiday too, he is in a beautiful place, there are other people and, perhaps, he would like to impress some nice girl .. 😉 You’ll see he’ll be comfortable also with a pair of pants (padded jeans are great) and a simple sweater, but, at least, he will not make the effect “just got out of bed.” Understood??
• LA TUTA DA GINNASTICA, lo so che vai via solo qualche giorno e non vuoi certamente portarti dietro sette valigie, ma non vestire tuo figlio tre giorni con la tuta da ginnastica. E’ in vacanza anche lui, è in un bel posto, ci sono altre persone e, magari, vorrebbe fare colpo su qualche simpatica bambina..;-) Vedrai che starà comodissimo anche con un paio di pantaloni (i jeans imbottiti sono ottimi) ed un semplice maglioncino, ma, almeno, non farà l’effetto “appena alzato dal letto”. Intesi??

• THE ELEGANT SHOES, yes, as moccasin, etc. .. Do not look at me like this.. I know that you would be able to bring your child in the mountains in tracksuit and moccasins, you know? So, stop and think. Your beloved boy will be perfect with boots or tall sneakers for going out to dinner (avoiding, in this way, the risk of surprising entry of snow between the thumb and the shoe), but again, without the tracksuit. This way you can take with you only two pairs (or even one) of shoes. Happy? You will make wear the elegant ones at he boy just returned to happily show him in public..;-)
• LE SCARPE ELEGANTI, sì, tipo mocassino, ecc.. Non mi guardare così..lo so che saresti capace di portare tuo figlio in montagna con tuta da ginnastica e mocassini, sai?? Quindi, fermati e rifletti. Il tuo adorato maschietto sarà perfetto con gli stivaletti o le sneakers alte anche per andare a cena fuori (si evita, coì, il rischio entrata a sorpresa di neve tra il pollice e la scarpa), ma , ripeto, senza tuta. In questo modo potrai portare con te solo due paia (o addirittura uno solo) di scarpe. Contenta?? Quelle eleganti le rimetterai al ragazzo appena tornati per esibirlo felicemente in pubblico…;-)

One last tip for ALL: YAY THE MOUNTAIN,  it is a magical place, full of atmosphere and of beautiful landscapes, but first, ATTENTION TO CHILDREN, to make them feel at ease, not to force them to do what, in fact, we like and to NOT make them SICK! For the luggage, READ HERE and you will be fine.. 😉

Un ultimo consiglio per TUTTI: EVVIVA LA MONTAGNA, è un posto magico, pieno di atmosfera e di paesaggi meravigliosi, ma per prima cosa, ATTENZIONE AI BAMBINI, a farli sentire a loro agio, a non FORZARLI a fare quello che, in realtà, piace a noi ed a NON farli AMMALARE!! Per la valigia, LEGGI QUI e sarai apposto..;-)
