FIAMMISAYS: YES AND NO of MAY 2014 (THE CEREMONY)

Eccoci… questo è il 18° appuntamento con la mia rubrica “FIAMMISAYS” partita a Luglio 2012. Per una introduzione e breve descrizione di questa mia nuova “avventura”, guarda QUI (ci puoi trovare tutti gli altri appuntamenti)

Here we are…. this is the 18° appointment with my section “FIAMMISAYS” started on July 2012. For an introduction and brief description of my new “adventure”, take a look HERE (you can find there all the others appointments)

MOTHER

(per chi, come me, ha bisogno di sentirsi a suo agio e comoda anche durante le Cerimonie – (for those who, like me, need to feel at ease and comfortable even during the Ceremonies)

YES TO:

• I PANTA PALAZZO, sono super TRENDY ed io li trovo anche super CHIC. Quindi quale migliore occasione per indossare un paio di pantaloni ampi e larghi fino alla caviglia (magari CROPPED per le più fashion addicted) di una cerimonia?? Saranno perfetti quelli in tinta unita (magari nelle tonalità del cipria o del grigio polvere), ma a me fanno impazzire quelli in fantasia. Io ne ho presi un paio a fiori e non vedo l’ora di indossarli. Rigorosamente con tacco alto e borsa piccolissima.
• THE PALAZZO PANTS, they are super TRENDY and I find them also super CHIC. So what better occasion to wear a pair of baggy pants (maybe CROPPED for really fashion addicts) than a ceremony? Those will be perfect in a solid color (maybe in shades of powder color or gray), but I adore the printed ones. I have taken a pair of flowered ones and can not wait to wear them. Strictly with high heel and small clutch.
  

• IL BLAZER OVERSIZE, magari in qualche materiale tecnico o semplicemente di seta. Da non abbinare ai panta palazzo di cui sopra, ma a linee più slim e rigorose. Perfetto con una longuette (anche in pelle colorata per le cerimonie più easy) e bellissimo con una gonna a sirena (per le cerimonie più impegnative). A me piace anche con i chinos, un tacco stratosferico ed un top aderente. Finito il periodo delle cerimonie, poi, tira fuori gli shorts dall’armadio e con il blazer oversize stai davvero strepitosa!!!
• THE OVERSIZED BLAZER, perhaps in some technical fabric or just in silk. Do not combine with the above palazzo pants, but with slim and rigorous lines. Perfect with a longuette (also in colored leather for the easier ceremonies) and so beautiful with a mermaid skirt (for the most demanding ceremonies). I also like it with chinos, a stratospheric heels and a tight top. After the period of the ceremonies, then pulls out of the closet your shorts and with the oversized blazer you will be really amazing!
  

• IL ROSSO, mentre lo scorso anno ti avevo consigliato i colori pastello come ideali per una cerimonia, quest’anno mi sento di spronarti a cercare un tocco di ROSSO. Dove vuoi e come preferisci. Sulle labbra per iniziare. Un foulard da annodare alla borsa o da mettere in testa. Uno smalto super brillante. Una clutch tutta rossa (le borse coloratissime sono un vero MUST, tra l’altro). Un dettaglio, insomma, che faccia la differenza, che richiami il sole e la voglia di festeggiare insieme alle persone che, quel colore rosso, lo rappresentano in pieno.
• THE RED, while last year I had advised the pastel colors as ideal for a ceremony, this year I would spur you to look for a touch of RED. Where you prefer and how you want. On the lips to start. A scarf to tie around the bag or to cover the head. One super bright nail polish. A red clutch (the colorful bags are a real MUST, by the way). A detail, in short, that makes a difference, that invokes the sun and the desire to celebrate with the people that really represent the color red.
  

NO TO:

• IL BIANCO,  non mi fraintendere, io adoro il bianco, specialmente d’estate, ma eviterei di indossarlo alle cerimonie. Per i matrimoni si sa e non sto qui a ripetertelo, per i battesimi e le comunioni sembrerai il chierichetto, per le altre celebrazioni sarai comunque too much. Non farti vedere per forza, vesti con sobrietà e con riguardo e pensa solamente a celebrare il momento che stai vivendo. Il bianco e la tua “purezza” andranno benissimo in tutte le altre occasioni, magari con un po’ di abbronzatura.. 😉 
  
• THE WHITE COLOR,  do not get me wrong, I love white, especially in the summer, but I would avoid wearing it during the ceremonies. For weddings you know and I’m not here to repeat it, for baptisms and first communion you will look like the altar boy, for other celebrations you’ll be too much. Dress modestly and with respect and think only to celebrate the moment you’re experiencing. The white and your “purity” will do fine in all other occasions, perhaps with a little ‘tan .. 😉
  

• LE ZEPPE, lo so che sono comode, lo so. E so anche che un tacco 12 portato per un giorno intero può portare a conseguenze quasi tragiche. Ce la puoi fare, comunque. Esiste il plateau (anche se le scarpe sprovviste si tale comodità sono troppo più raffinate), esiste qualcuno che ti porta in braccio, esiste il cuscinetto gommato, esiste il “vola via le scarpe ad una certa ora” che fa tanto selvaggio-chic. Fai come credi, ma ti vieto di presentarti ad una cerimonia con le zeppe, ok? No, nemmeno al matrimonio di tuo cugino che si sposa ai giardinetti pubblici davanti a casa, senza prete e con tre invitati (due sono gli sposi). 
• THE WEDGES, I know they are comfortable, I know. And I also know that a heel 12 led to a whole day can lead to almost tragic consequences. You can do it, anyway. There is the plateau (although the shoes without plateau are more sophisticated), there is someone who will take you in his arms, there is a rubber pad, there is the “fly off your shoes at a certain time” that is sooooo wild-chic. Do as you want, but I forbid to you togo to a ceremony with the wedges, okay? No, not even at the wedding of your cousin that goes to public gardens in front of the house, without a priest and  with three guests (two are married couples).
  

• IL CROP TOP, se hai un fisico perfetto (beata te) e non puoi resistere a mostrare il tuo meraviglioso “ombelico del mondo”, ti prego solo di farlo in altre occasioni. Non puoi presentarti in chiesa o in un altro luogo di culto con il crop top, a meno che tu non abbia scelto un paio di pantaloni che ti arrivino sotto il seno (un po’ scomodi, forse) o a meno che tu no ci metta sotto una canottiera che copra le tue grazie (in quel caso non avrebbe più senso il crop top, ma sono scelte). In tutti gli altri casi l’ombelico va coperto e la moda, per un giorno, tralasciata.
  
• THE CROP TOP, if you have a perfect body (lucky you) and you can not resist to show off your wonderful “navel of the world”, please only do so on other occasions. Do not arrive in a church or other place of worship with the crop top, unless you have not chosen a pair of pants that will come under the breasts (a little ‘uncomfortable, perhaps) or unless you not put under a tank top that covers your body (in that case it would not make more sense the crop top, but this is up to you). In all other cases, the navel should be covered and fashion, for a day, omitted.

DAUGHTER

(per chi, come Fiammetta, ha un sacco di ceremonie alle quali prendere parte e nelle quali sentirsi bambina e libera– (for those who, like Fiammetta, has a lot of ceremonies which take part and in which feel child and free)

• LA STAMPA, è finito il tempo in cui si credeva che Cerimonia facesse rima con tinta unita, adesso si può e si deve giocare con LA STAMPA. Vestitini a fiori, top a pois con gonne a righe sono i nuovi MUST per la cerimonia delle più piccole. Sono allegri, freschi, divertenti e, se la tua bambina si sporcherà, si vedrà anche meno… 😉 Saranno, poi, capi perfetti da portare per tutta l’estate con un paio di sneakers o di ciabattine.
• THE PRINT, you ran out of time when it was believed that ceremony would rhyme with solid color, now you can and you have to play with THE PRINTS. Dress with flowers, polka dot top and striped skirts are the new MUST for the ceremony of children. They are cheerful, fresh, fun, and if your child will get dirty, you will not see it.. 😉 They will, then, be perfect clothes to wear all summer with sneakers or slippers.
  

• I CERCHIETTI FIORITI, sarà che Fiammetta ultimamente non vede altro, ma io li trovo davvero meravigliosi ed adattissimi a qualsiasi tipo di cerimonia, anche a quelle più easy. Per un matrimonio speciale saranno bellissimi nei colori pastello o addirittura tutto bianco, per una festa allegra e gioiosa opta per quelli tutti coloratissimi ed abbinali a mini abiti e leggings o al pizzo san gallo. La tua bambina sarà meravigliosa e super chic.
• THE FLOWERED HAIR BAND, ultimately Fiammetta does not see anything and I find them really beautiful and perfectly suitable for any type of ceremony, even the easier ones. For an unforgettable wedding will be beautiful in pastel colors or even all white, for a cheerful and joyful celebration opt for an hair band full of color and match it with mini-dresses and leggings or San Gallo lace. Your little girl will be beautiful and super chic.
  

• IL TULLE, niente di più romantico e perfetto per una cerimonia. Ovunque potrai trovare una favolosa gonnellina in tulle, un MUST senza tempo per rendere la tua bambina speciale e felicissima. Abbinalo a top semplici in cotone senza stampe o applicazioni, e ad un paio di allacciate. Il tulle deve rimanere il pezzo forte dell’outfit ed è già abbastanza “importante” da solo. Si trovano anche vestitini con sotto in tulle e sopra in cotone. Perfetti per la comodità e per la maggiore facilità a ritrovare tutto il look insieme a tua figlia a fine giornata.. 😉 
• THE TULLE, nothing more romantic and perfect for a ceremony. Wherever you can find a fabulous tulle skirt, a MUST to make your child happy and special. Match it with simple cotton top with no prints or applications, and a pair of laced shoes. The tulle should remain the highlight of the outfit and it is already quite “important” alone. There are also dresses with tulle underneath and above cotton. Perfect for the convenience and for the ease to find the whole look together with your daughter at the end of the day ..;-)

NO TO:

• LE FRANGE, già non mi fanno impazzire per noi mamme, figuriamoci per le bambine. Figuriamoci, poi, gonnellini e vestitini pieni di frange per matrimoni e battesimi. Ne ho visti tantissimi in giro (di capi per bambine con le frange, intendo), ma non riesco a farmeli piacere. Opta per fiori applicati, per pizzi, per merletti, per quello che vuoi, insomma, ma non cedere al “frange-style” per la tua bambina. Ti prego…. Se proprio non puoi resistere, scegli solo un accessorio (un foulard, un cappellino, un costumino) e falli indossare a tua figlia in altre occasioni. Ok??
• THE FRINGE, they do not make me crazy for us moms, not also for girls. Not, then, skirts and dresses filled with fringes for weddings and baptisms. I’ve seen plenty of them around (garments for girls with fringes, I mean), but I  really do not like them. Opt for appliqué flowers, lace, laces, for what you want, in short, but do not give in to the “fringe-style” for your little girl. Please …. If you just can not resist, choose only an accessory (a scarf, a hat, a swimsuit) and let your daughter wear them on other occasions. Ok?
  

• LE SCARPE CON I FIOCCHI, ora, credi davvero che tua figlia (a meno che lei non abbia ancora sei mesi) sia davvero felice ed a suo agio con un due uova di Pasqua al posto dei piedi?? No dai…a me non piacciono proprio e non sono nemmeno eleganti. Scegli una ballerina senza fiocchi o una stringata super chic in vernice, ma lascia a casa i fiocchi, oppure staccali dalle scarpe e crea un bel fermaglio.
• THE SHOES WITH BOWS, now, do you really think your daughter (unless she has not yet six months) will be really happy and comfortable with a couple of Easter eggs  instead of feet? No, come on … I do not like them and they are not even stylish. Chose ballerina shoes without bows or a super chic lace-up, but leave it at home all the bows, or remove them from the shoes and creates a nice hair clip.
  

• I VESTITI ADERENTI, ok, stiamo parlando di cerimonia, ok, ma siamo nella parte FIGLIA, ok?? Si tratta di bambini che devono rimanere tali e sentirsi tali in ogni occasione, anche nei momenti più “rigorosi” e formali. Poco imposta se i tuoi stilisti preferiti hanno presentato modelli aderentissimi per la tua bambina, comprali per te. I bambini devono rimanere liberi di correre, di divertirsi, di cadere per terra con le gambe “all’aria”, di essere bambini. Questo è quello che conta davvero, il resto è un gioco.
  
• THE TIGHT-FITTING CLOTHING, ok, we’re talking about the ceremony, okay, but we are in the DAUGHTER part of this section, ok? They are children who have to stay and feel such at every opportunity, even in the most “rigorous” and formal. It doesn’t mind if your favorite designers have presented tight-fitting clothing for your little girl, buy them for yourself. Children should be free to run, to have fun, to fall to the ground with “legs on air”, to be children. This is what really counts, the rest is a game.

SON

(per chi, come la sorella, deve essere pronto per un mese di cerimonie e vuole sentirsi a suo agio –  (for those who, like her sister, has to be ready for a month of celebrations and want to feel at ease)

• I BERMUDA BLU, io li trovo così perfetti e raffinati, che, se avessi un maschio, lo vestirei sempre così. Cosa di meglio di una paio di bermuda blu in cotone o in lino per una qualsiasi cerimonia. Se è una cerimonia più elegante, abbina la classica camicia celeste (o a righe) ed un paio di scarpe da barca, se la festa è meno formale, abbina i bermuda con polo e sneakers. Il tuo bambino sarà in tema ed a suo agio.
• THE BLUE BERMUDA, I find them so perfect and refined, that if I had a boy, I would dress him always with them.  What better than a pair of blue bermuda in cotton or in linen for any ceremony. If it’s a more elegant ceremony, match them with the classic blue shirt (or striped) and a pair of boat shoes, if the party is less formal, match the Bermuda shorts with polo shirts and sneakers. Your child will be on theme and at ease.

• LA GIACCA IN PANNO, e ribadisco di PANNO. Ce ne sono tantissime in giro di queste giacche che ti danno l’idea dell’elegante, ma che in realtà sono di panno e quindi permettono i movimenti e non fanno sembrare il tuo bambino un piccolo uomo. Sceglila del colore che preferisci ed abbinala a pantaloni chino rigirati in fondo e ad una camicia bianca. Mi vestirei anch’io così… 😉 
  
• THE CLOTH JACKET, and I repeat CLOTH JACKET. There are lots of these jacket around that give you the idea of the elegant, but which in reality are in panne and then allow the movements and not make your child like a little man. Choose it in the color that you prefer to match with turned over to the bottom chino pants and a white shirt. I would dress myself  like this … 😉

• IL GILET SOPRA LA POLO, se proprio non ti va di rinunciare al gilet, fallo indossare al tuo bambino solo sopra la polo. No al gilet sopra la camicia, fa troppo ricercato per forza ed è un look che non si addice ai bambini. Sopra la polo  il gilet diventa divertente, facile, easy. Abbina un paio di pantaloni casual ed un cappello colorato.
• THE VEST OVER THE POLO, if you do not like to give up the vest, make your baby wear it just above the polo t-shirt. No to the vest over the shirt, it’s too much sophisticated and it is a look that does not fit for children. Above the polo tee, the vest is fun and easy. Match them with a pair of casual pants and a colorful hat.

NO TO:

• IL VESTITO, o la giacca, o i pantaloni. E non vorrei aggiungere altro. Dico solo che il completo per un bambino è inadatto, esagerato, fuori luogo. Ho esagerato?? Ok, facciamo così, se lo hai già acquistato, usa la giacca con un pantalone super sportivo ed una scarpa allacciata per una cerimonia, ed i pantaloni con un maglioncino e le sneakers per un’altra. Ok? Va meglio? 
• THE SUIT, or the jacket, or the pants. And I do not want to add more. I’m just saying that the suit is unfit, exaggerated, out of place for children. Do i have exaggerated? Ok, let’s do so, if you have already purchased it, use the jacket with a pair of super sporty trousers, lace-up shoe for a ceremony, and pants with a sweater and sneakers for another. Ok? Is that better?
  

• IL MONOCOLORE, osa anche per il tuo maschietto. Vai con stampe, colori e fantasia. Un consiglio? Verde e Blu insieme e lo renderei super FASHION anche per la cerimonia. Non ti limitare a look tutti bianchi, o tutti blu, c’è la primavera che ci aspetta, c’è la voglia di divertirci, c’è la voglia di giocare. Fallo anche tu.
• THE ONE COLOR, dare also for your boy. Go with prints, colors and imagination. A word of advice? Green and Blue together and would make your child super FASHION for the ceremony. Do not limit yourself to total white or total blue outfit, there is a spring that is waiting for us, there is the desire to have fun, there is the desire to play. Do it.

• I SANDALI, se tuo figlio ha passato l’anno di età, ti vieto di fargli indossare i sandali a matrimoni o battesimi. Ti vieto…faccio per dire, ma ti prego, quello sì. Giacche di panno, camicie, gilet e sandali?? No, dai… scegli le stringate, i mocassini, le sneakers (ce ne sono anche di super eleganti e raffinate), le scarpe da barca, ma non i sandali. Quelli saranno perfetti per il mare. Ok?
• THE SANDALS, if your child has more than one year, I forbid you to dress him with sandals at weddings or baptism. I forbid…. it is a way of saying … I please you, that is better. Cloth jackets, shirts, vests and sandals? No, come on … choose laced shoes, loafers, sneakers (there are also super elegant and refined sneakers), boat shoes, but not sandals. Those will be perfect for the beach. Ok?

Un ultimo consiglio per TUTTI: LA CERIMONIA è un momento di condivisione, di gioia, di intimità. E questo deve rimanere. Scegliere un LOOK deve rappresentare solo un nuovo gioco e tutta la voglia di vivere il momento. Lascia a casa, quindi, tutte le restrizioni dettate dalla moda e dal volere degli altri e vai con tutta la tua fantasia, la voglia di libertà ed il desiderio di far vivere le emozioni, quelle vere, al tuo bambino.

One last tip for ALL: THE CEREMONY is a time of sharing, of joy, of intimacy. And this must remain. Choosing a LOOK must represent only a new game and all the desire to live in the moment. Leave at home, all restrictions dictated by fashion and by the will of the other and go with all your fantasy, with the desire for freedom and with the desire to make feel the emotions, the real ones, to your child.
