MOTHER
per chi, come me, in realtà non vorrebbe tornare, ma che adora i primi nuovi look autunnali – for those who, like me, do not really want to go back, but loves the first new autumn look
YES TO:
- LA PELLE, anche quella simil…tornata di grandissima moda, renderà il nostro rientro un pò più rock e moderno. Comodissimi i pantaloni (anche super stretch) da abbinare con una giacca super femminile, magari modello smoking. A me piace con il METAL (altro MUST di stagione). Che ne dici di una longuette metal (la mini la lasciamo per la sera) con un top con inserti in pelle?? Io ho deciso che sarà il mio look lavorativo per questo inverno 2014/2015.
- THE LEATHER, even the similar leather.… it is back in fashion and it will make our way back a little more rock and modern. So comfortable the pants (even super stretch) to be matched with a super feminine blazer, maybe a smoking model. I like matching it with the METAL (another seasonal MUST). How about a metal midi (we leave the mini for the evening) with a top with leather inserts?? I decided that it will be my working look for this winter 2014-2015.
- LA MAXI MAXI BAG, con dentro tutto quello che più ti piace (anche un paio di scarpe di ricambio e un piumino). Ne ho viste tantissime in giro e ne ho adorate alcune con stampe ispirate alla pittura...FAVOLOSE!!! Da portare ogni giorno per qualsiasi tipo di lavoro. Con un foulard di seta al collo, poi, l’effetto è davvero super chic ed il rientro meno traumatico.
- THE MAXI MAXI BAG,with everything inside what you like (even a spare pair of shoes and a feather duster). I’ve seen a lot of them around and I‘ve loved some with prints inspired by the painting … FABULOUS!!! To wear every day for any type of work. With a silk scarf around the neck, then, the effect will be really super chic and the back to work less traumatic.
- L’OVERSIZE, per sentirsi a proprio agio e un pò più rassicurate. In questo momento, poi, non importa più rispettare le proporzioni, perfetto anche oversize sopra e oversize sotto. Io aggiungo, magari, una cinturina in vita per rendere il tutto più femminile e sono prontissima per indossare nuovi favolosi cappotti oversize. Per adesso mi limito ai giubbotti in denim ed a grandissimi pantaloni. Poi aggiungo le ROCKSTUD e tutte appare meravigliosamente sofisticato.

THE OVERSIZE, to feel comfortable and a little more reassured. In this moment, then, does not matter anymore respect the proportions, perfect even oversize above and oversize below. I would add, perhaps, a little belt at the waist to make it more feminine and I’m very ready to wear fabulous new oversized coats. At the moment I will limit myself to denim jackets and great trousers. Then I add the ROCKSTUD and all looks wonderfully sophisticated.
NO TO:
- “LE SCARPE DA TREKKING IN TRIBUNALE”, virgoletto, perchè questo spunto mi è stato dato da qualcuno che mi ha raccontato di essersi davvero presentata in Tribunale (trattasi di nota e professionalissima avvocatessa) con le trekking celesti. Sì, celesti. Abbinate come? Ma con i jeans, che domande!!! Ecco, siamo tornati a casa, te lo faccio presente. Lo so che con la mente sei ancora sui meravigliosi monti a scorrazzare allegramente tra i fiori ed il formaggio di capra, ma te lo ribadisco, siamo tornati. Metti via quelle scarpe da trekking (o le scarpette da sub) e infila un paio di scarpe consone al lavoro che fai. Vanno benissimo anche le ballerine. Meglio se a PUNTA. P.S.: Chiara, io ti ADORO e ancora non me ne capacito….
- “THE HIKING SHOES IN THE COURT“I’m using quotation marks, because this hint was given to me by someone who told me that she really entered in Court (she is a well known an really profesisonal lawyer) with the hiking shoes and in light blue. Yes, light blue.Combined with? But with jeans, this is not a question!!! Here, we are returned home,I want you to remember. I know that with your mind you’re still on the magnificent mountains running around happily among the flowers and the goat cheese, but I’ll repeat, we are back. Put away those hiking shoes (or sub shoes) and waer a pair of shoes appropriate to the work you do. Ok for the flat shoes. Better if POINTY shoes. PS: Chiara, I LOVE you, and yet I do not fail to see ….
- LO ZAINO, o peggio, il Marsupio. Forse l’ho già detto, ma, visto che la moda non mi prende per niente in considerazione e gli stilisti continuano a proporre zainetti come se fosse l’unica cosa giusta da fare, io te lo ripeto. Qui e ancora. No allo zainetto, in nessun caso. La borsa (qualsiasi tu voglia, non ci metto bocca) è uno degli accessori più femminili e identificativi, vogliamo davvero rinunciarci? Io non ci penso nemmeno e non vorrei nemmeno vedere te con gonna metal, cappotto oversize, scarpa a punta e zainetto…..oh mamma!!! Nemmeno se è di Chanel. Ok??
- THE BACKPACK, or worse, the pouch. Perhaps I have already said that, but, as the fashion does not take me at all into account and designers continue to offer backpacks as if it was the only right thing to do, I’ll say it again. Here and again. No to the backpack, in any case. The bag (whatever you want, I do say a word) is one of the most feminine accessories, do we really want to give it up? I do not even think about it and I would not even like to see you with metal skirt, oversized coat, pointy shoe and backpack ….. oh mom!!! Even if it is from Chanel. OK ??
- I PANTALONI DI LANA, ok, lo so che è ancora caldo, anzi è caldo adesso (lo so), ma vorrei dirtelo subito, prima che tu commetta il fatto. I pantaloni di lana (magari stretch) vanno bene solo se sei alta 1.98 m., pesi 25 Kg e le tue gambe sono lunghe 1.97 m. In tutti gli altri casi no per davvero!! Come pensi di abbinarli poi? Con una camicia da notte lunga fino ai piedi? Ok, in questo caso..bentornata a LAVORO!!
- THE WOOL PANTS, ok, I know it’s still hot, so it’s hot right now (I know), but I would like to tell you now, before you commit the crime. The wool pants (maybe stretch) are only good if you are 1.98 m high, weights 25 kg and your legs are long, 1.97 m. In all other cases, really NO!! How do you match them then? With a nightgown down to the foot? Ok, in this case…welcome back to WORK!!
DAUGHTER
per chi, come Fiammetta è felicissima di tornare all’asilo e di raccontare tutto quello che ha fatto e visto (dei vestiti non se ne preoccupa minimamenete, per fortuna che ci sono io.. 😉 –for those who, like Fiammetta is excited to go back to kindergarten and to tell all she has done and seen (she does not care at least about the clothes, fortunately I’m here .. ;-)
YES TO:
- L’ANIMALIER, se saputo gestire l’animalier è super fashion anche per le bambine. Se saputo gestire. Abbinato a colori tenui e smorzato da rouches o felpe, sarà davvero perfetto per il BACK TO SCHOOL. Fiammetta ancora non lo sa, ma ho giusto giusto una sorpresina per lei. Noi lo indossiamo con le sneakers ed una felpa super femminile. Vedrai…STAY TUNED!!
- THE ANIMAL PRINT, if you know how to handle it, the animal print is super fashionable also for girls. If you know how to handle it. Matched with soft colors and muted with ruffles or sweatshirts, it will be perfect for BACK TO SCHOOL. Fiammetta does not know yet, but I just have a little surprise for her. We wear animal prints with sneakers and a super feminine sweatshirt. You’ll see … STAY TUNED !!
- LE SLIP ON, sono ancora perfette, perchè il clima ce lo permette e le nostre bambine potranno (ancora per un pò) lasciare il piede libero in morbide scarpine colorate. Facilissime da indossare sono perfette per la scuola e anche per il dopo scuola. Se le prendi animalier o a quadri, la tua bambina sarà anche super fashion.
- THE SLIP ON, are still perfect, because the weather permits it and our girls could (still for a while) let the foot stay in soft colored shoes. Very easy to wear, they are perfect for school and also for after school. I you buy them in animal print or checkered, your daughter will also be super fashionable.
- I CALZETTONI, se pensi che le sue delicate gambette non siano pronte per ricevere i graffi ed i morsi di un ritorno a scuola, allora opta per un paio di calzettoni (leggeri, però), magari colorati e la tua bambina sarà al sicuro. Per adesso fanno davvero BACK TO SCHOOL, più avanti potrai riutilizzarli sopra i leggings per un effetto grunge (tipo non ci penso assolutamente, io esco così, in realtà ci ho messo sei ore per farli sembrare appena calati e con il destro a mezzo cm esatto sotto il sinistro) o per giocare in casa….Da indossare con le sneakers alte o con le allacciate (se la scuola lo permette).
- THE SOCKS, if you think her delicate legs are not ready to receive the scratches and bites of a return to school, then opt for a pair of socks (light, though), maybe colored and your child will be safe. Now they are really perfect for BACK TO SCHOOL, later you can reuse them over leggings for a grunge effect (I do not think at all, so I go out, in reality it took me six hours to make them look just dropped and with the right one at exactly 1/2 cm below the left one) or for playing at home …. To be worn with high sneakers or with laced shoes (if the school allows it).
NO TO:
- IL TULLE, delicato, bellissimo e raffinato, ma no per tornare a scuola. La tua bambina non sarà nè comoda, nè libera e rischierai di vederla tornare senza un paio di strati. Il tulle risponde benissimo al fuoco e questi ragazzi in prima elementare già fumano…. 😉
- THE TULLE, delicate, so beautiful and refined, but not to back to school. Your little girl will be neither easy nor free and you risk to see her come back without a couple of layers. The tulle responds well to fire and these guys in first grade already smoke ….;-)
- I TEXANI, ora, guardiamoci negli occhi, davvero lo vuoi fare?? La tua bambina potrebbe inciampare in quelle punte, impigliarsi nei gancetti per infilarli (ma come si chiamano???) e non ritrovare più i calzini in quell’enormità di scarpa. Per non parlare delle risate beffarde dei suoi compagni (e certi compagni sono più perfidi di Crudelia De Mon) e delle occhiate di traverso delle maestre (figurati se va dalle suore). Sneakers, allacciate, ballerine, ciabattine, anche le crocs vanno meglio dei texani (per i bambini intendo). Ok? Vanno di moda? Chi se ne….
- THE COWBOY BOOTS, now, let us look into our eyes, do you really want it?? Your child might stumble in those tips, tangled in hooks to fit them (but what do you call them???) and not find the socks in that huge shoes. Not to mention the mocking laughter of her schoolmates (and some schoolmates are more treacherous than Crudelia De Mon) and the glances of the teachers (I there are nuns, then….. ) Sneakers, laced, ballet shoes, slippers, even the crocs are better cowboy boots (for children I mean). OK? Are them a MUST?? I really do not mind….
- I JEANS, peggio ancora se STRAPPATI. Non mi piacciono per noi mamme e non mi piacciono neppure per le nostre bambine, figurarsi per tornare a scuola. A scuola si deve stare comodi, è vero, ma ci vuole sempre un pò di rispetto per le istituzioni, anche se, spesso, queste le istituzioni non hanno più rispetto per noi. I jeans strappati non solo non sono comodi (difficile portarsi in giro quei brandelli e non allargare gli sbrani così tanto da ritrovarsi con la mini), ma non sembrano voler esprimere nemmeno il rispetto. Sono un pò all’antica su queste cose, lo so, ma sopportami, dai….
- THE JEANS, even worse if RIPPED. I do not like them for us moms and I do not like even for our children, let alone to go back to school. At school you have to be comfortable, it is true, but a little bit of respect for institutions is fundamental, though, often, these institutions no longer have respect for us. The ripped jeans are not comfortable (hard to carry around those shreds and not widen the ropes so much to end up with the mini), but do not seem to want to express not even the respect. I’m a bit old-fashioned about these things, I know, but tolerate me, come on….
SON
per chi, come la sorella, ha voglia di tornare a scuola per mostrare la nuova, sorprendente collezione di figurine (e solo per quello) – for those who, like the sister, wants to go back to school to show the new, stunning collection of figurines (and only for that)
YES TO:
- LE RIGHE. Dovrei aggiungere altro?? La riga è un “sempreverde”, quasi come Harry Potter, è un MUST e un “devo per forza” per tornare a scuola. Meravigliose e senza tempo magliette a righe dovrebbero essere obbligatorie per il BACK TO SCHOOL dei nostri maschietti. Perfetti i maglioncini (quando inizierà il freddo) e da non sottovalutare assolutamente i pantaloni, anche per l’inverno.. 😉
- THE STRIPES. Should I add something?? The stripes are “evergreen”, almost like Harry Potter, are a MUST and a “I’m forced” to go back to school. Wonderful and timeless striped shirts should be mandatory for BACK TO SCHOOL of our boys. Perfect the sweaters (when the cold will arrive) and you should not underestimated the striped pants, even for the winter ..;-)
- IL COLORE SOTTO IL GREMBIULE, possono impedirci di esprimerci come vogliamo, ma non possono impedirci di colorare il mondo (questa mi è venuta così). E non possono nemmeno impedirci di colorare le nostre magliette, i nostri maglioni, i nostri orizzonti. Via libera, quindi, al colore, anche quello esagerato, quello che non penseremmo mai…meravigliosi i nostri maschietti con il rosa, il rosso, l’arancio e anche tutti insieme. Daiiiiii. Poi arriverà l’inverno e dovrai abbandonarti al grigio!!!
- THE COLOR UNDER THE APRON, they could prevent us from expressing ourselves as we want, but they can not prevent us to color the world (just to say). And they can not even prevent us to color our shirts, our sweaters, our horizons. Go ahead, then, to the color, even to that too exaggerated, that we would never think … wonderful little boys with pink, red, orange and even all together. Come on. Then winter arrives and you have to abandon yourself to the gray !!!
- LE SNEAKERS IN VERNICE, le voglio anche per me e se avessi un maschio farei subito un “mom and son” (vero Elisa?) e non avrei un’esitazione. Nemmeno una. Ne ho viste un sacco in giro e mi sembrano così chic e moderne, pur mantenendo la loro indiscutibile comodità. Le puoi trovare ovunque e tutti i brand ne hanno fatta la loro personale versione. Per il BACK TO SCHOOL il tuo bambino ringrazierà.
- THE PATENT LEATHER SNEAKERS, I want them for me and if I had a son I’d make instantly a “mom and son” (what do you say Elisa?) And I would not have hesitation. Not one. I’ve seen a lot of them around and they look so chic and modern, while maintaining their unquestionable comfort. You can find them everywhere and all the brands have made their own version. For the BACK TO SCHOOL your child will thank you.
NO TO:
- IL CAMOUFLAGE, adesso basta e mettiamoci un punto adesso. Adesso che torniamo a scuola. Basta Camouflage, ci ha fatto compagnia per tutta l’estate, adesso lasciamolo alla sorella. Opta per fiori, righe e pois, perché no, ma lascia da parte (almeno per adesso) lo stile mimetico.
- THE CAMOUFLAGE, enough is enough and let a point now. Now we go back to school. Stop to Camouflage that was with us throughout all the summer, now let’s leave it to the sister. Opt for flowers, stripes and polka dots, why not, but leaves aside (at least for now) the camo style.
- LE MAGLIETTE CON I MOSTRI, chissà perché quando si torna a casa e, finalmente, si riescono ad abbandonare i super eroi fedeli ed instancabili compagni di vacanza, si passa direttamente a mostruose creature simpaticamente stampate sulle magliette. Anch’esse instancabili e dai poteri paranormali. Io opterei per l’accidentale distruzione nell’asciugatrice lasciata accesa per tre giorni, poi vedi te…
- THE SHIRTS WITH MONSTERS, for some reason when you return home and, finally, you are able to abandon the super heroes faithful and tireless companions of our holiday, you’ll go directly to monstrous creatures nicely printed on t-shirts. Also tireless and with paranormal powers. I would opt for the accidental destruction in the dryer left on for three days, then it is up to you…
- LA TUTA, LE RUNNING, LA FASCIA ED UN PAIO DI PESI, nel senso che, quando ci sarà la giornata dell’educazione motoria (così si dice), potrai far indossare al tuo maschietto la tuta, con le running, con la fascia e con in tasca un paio di pesi, ma solo per quel giorno. Per il resto ok ai pantaloni della tuta, ma con un cardigan (magari bi-colore), o un gilet ed una favolosa camicia a quadri. Oppure opta per la felpa, ma con un pantalone un po più slim, arricciato in fondo e un paio di calzini colorati (meglio ancora in fantasia). La fascia ed i pesi da lasciare a casa. Tutto chiaro??
- THE SUIT, THE RUNNING, THE BAND AND A COUPLE OF WEIGHTS, in the sense that, when there will be a day of physical education (so they say), you can make your boy wear the suit, with the running, with the band and with in his pocket a couple of weights, but only for that day. For the other days ok to sweat pants, but with a cardigan (maybe bi-color), or a vest and a fabulous checkered shirt. Or opt for the sweatshirt, but with a slim pants, “curled” at the bottom and a pair of colored socks (even better in fantasy). The band and the weights to be left at home. Is everything clear??

Un ultimo consiglio per TUTTI: Niente più vacanze adesso, niente più corse senza fine e giornate senza obbiettivi. Adesso si torna a SCUOLA, si torna a pensare, si torna a fare progetti. E il primo progetto deve essere la serenità dei nostri bambini che, dopo un po’ di tempo, lasciano andare, ancora una volta, la nostra mano stretta e sicura per prenderne di nuove. E ci saranno mani amiche, mani forti, mani per sempre, mani che fanno male. Spetta a noi fermarsi un attimo ed aiutarli a capirne la differenza.
One last tip for ALL: No more holidays now, no more endless rides and days without goals. Now we go back to SCHOOL, back to thinking, back to make plans. And the first project must be the serenity of our children who, after a while time, let to go, once again, our hand tight and secure to take new ones. And there will be helping hands, strong hands, forever hands, hands that hurt. It is up to us to stop a moment and help them to understand the difference.
