FIAMMISAYS: YES AND NO of DECEMBER 2013 (LOVELY CHRISTMAS)

Eccoci… questo è il 16° appuntamento con la mia rubrica “FIAMMISAYS” partita a Luglio 2012. Per una introduzione e breve descrizione di questa mia nuova “avventura”, guarda QUI (ci puoi trovare tutti gli altri appuntamenti)

MOTHER

(per chi, come me, ama il Natale, la sua atmosfera e i colori nell’aria – for those who, like me, love Christmas, its atmosphere and the colors in the air)

YES TO:

• I MAGLIONI GRANDI CON LA CINTURINA IN VITA, come mi piacciono!! Ne ho visti tantissimi in giro e per tutti i gusti!!! Scuri, chiari, dai meravigliosi colori pastello. Meglio ancora se in lana MOHAIR (spela un pò, ma dopo una notte di freezer, si risolve gran parte del problema). Da portare rigorosamente con una piccola cinturina in vita, meglio se lunga, da rigirare più volte. Questo serve per non apparire come dei sacchi informi. Abbinali a pantaloni stretti o gonne lunghe per una serata calda e super chic.
• THE BIG SWEATER WITH THE WAIST BELT, I love them so much! I’ve seen a lots around and really for everyone! Dark, light, in the wonderful pastel colors. Better if in MOHAIR wool (stripping a bit, but after a night of freezing, you can solve most of the problem). To wear strictly with a small waist belt, better if long, to turn over several times. This is usefull not look like shapeless sacks. Match them with tight pants or long skirts for a warm and super chic evening.
  

• LE MARY JANE, magari ROSSE. Nel periodo natalizio più che mai queste scarpe saranno perfette. Sono facilmente indossabili e sono molto carine anche quelle con il tacco basso. Opta per un look minimale e fresco ed aggiungi un tocco di colore con le scarpe. Sarai davvero originale ed in tema. Da portare con gonne al ginocchio, pantaloni cropped (corti alla caviglia) e anche pantaloni palazzo (quelle con un bel tacco alto).
• THE MARY JANE SHOES, maybe in RED. During the Christmas season more than ever, these shoes will be perfect. They are easy to wear and are very pretty even those with low heel. Choose a minimal and cool outfit and add a touch of color with the shoes. You’ll be really original and you’ll be in with the Christmas theme. To be worn with knee-length skirts, cropped pants (short at the ankle) and also palazzo pants (with a nice high heel in this case).
  

• IL COLOR ORO, ogni anno è protagonista, è meraviglioso, è il vero colore perfetto per il periodo natalizio. Bellissime le felpe, da sogno i vestiti (anche in maglia), senza tempo un maglioncino, super chic le cinture, elegante la borsa, no ai pantaloni. Scegli il pezzo che preferisci e il tuo sarà davvero un LOVELY CHRISTAMS.
• THE GOLD COLOR, every year it is the protagonist, it is wonderful, it is the true color perfect for the Christmas season. Beautiful the sweatshirts, to dream the dresses (also knitted), timeless the sweater, super chic the belts, stylish the bag, no to the pants. Choose the garment you want and your will really be a LOVELY CHRISTMAS.
  

NO TO:

• GLI HOT PANTS, o tutto quello che c’è di HOT in questo periodo. E’ Natale!!!!! Daiiii, un pò di contegno!! L’eleganza e la semplicità sono di rigore. Lascia i tuoi super pantaloncini cortissimi e di pelle ad un altro periodo. Lo so che gli stilisti li hanno proposti, ma noi abbiamo la facoltà di scelta!!
• THE HOT PANTS, or all that’s HOT in this period. It’s Christmas!! Come on, a bit of attitude! The elegance and the simplicity are de rigueur. Leave your super-short and in leather pants to another period. I know that the designers have suggested them, but we have the power of choice!
  

• IL ROSSO TOTAL LOOK, mi piace il rosso, mi piace il total look, ma non mi piacciono INSIEME!!! Preferisco un BLU total look o un ORO total look. Il rosso lo lascerei solo a rifinire. Un accessorio, una spilla,  le scarpe, e come sempre e per forza LO SMALTO ROSSO. Quello sì che è perfetto per il Natale e non ti scambieranno per una decorazione.
• THE RED TOTAL LOOK,  like red, I like the total look, but I do not like them TOGETHER! Opt for a BLUE total look, or a GOLD total look. Leave the red to refined. An accessory, a brooch, the shoes, and as always and necessarily the RED NAIL POLISH. It is really perfect for Christmas and you will not look as a tree decoration.

• IL PIUMINO,  lo so che quando fa freddo il piumino è davvero il massimo, ma usalo solo se vai in montagna. Ci sono tantissime alternative che sono altrettanto calde ed un pò più in tema. Cappotti imbottiti, pellicce ecologiche, il parka, ecc…tutti capi perfetti per le feste ed adatti anche ad un look più elegante e creativo. Il piumino sarà di nuovo il tuo miglior amico a gennaio e fino alla primavera.. 
• THE DOWN JACKET, I know that when it’s cold, the down jacket is really the top, but use it only if you go to the mountains. There are lots of alternatives that are just as hot as the down jacket and a little more on theme with your lovely Christmas. Padded coats, faux fur, parka, etc. … all perfect clothes for holidays and also suitable for a more elegant and creative look. The down jacket will be your new best friend in January and until the spring .
  

DAUGHTER

(per chi, come Fiammetta, adora l’albero, le sue decorazioni, i regali e qualche “sbrilluccichio” – for those who, like Fiammetta, love the Christmas tree, its decorations, the gifts and some “glittering”).

YES TO:

• IL NEOPRENE anche per i BAMBINI, ebbene sì. Perfetto per noi mamme, carinissimo anche per i nostri bambini. Il materiale non irrita, non dà fastidio nemmeno ai più piccoli (eviterei, comunque, per i davvero piccolissimi) ed è di gran moda. Ho visto dei vestitini di NEOPRENE in giro che sono da svenire…anche i grandi marchi li hanno realizzati e sono sicura che la tua bambina sarà davvero super chic in queste feste con il suo “neoprene”.
• THE NEOPRENE also for KIDS,  oh yes!! Perfect for us moms, too cute for our children. The fabric does not irritate, it does not bother also the little ones (I would avoid, however, for the really tiny) and it is all the rage. I’ve seen some NEOPRENE dresse around to die for … even the big brands have maden them and I’m sure your little girl will be really super chic during this period with her “neoprene
  

• QUALCHE SBRILLUCCICHIO, vogliamo privare le nostre bambine del loro momento principesco proprio durante le feste di natale?? Eh no….basta non ESAGERARE!!! Scegli un maglioncino con che brilli, una gonna, una mollettina per capelli, ma non tutto insieme. Se scegli il sopra tutto luce e brillantini, tieni sobrio il sotto e viceversa. Anche qualche brillantino sulla scarpa può essere preso in considerazione in questo periodo, Con moderazione, comunque…
• SOME GLITTERING, do we want to deprive our little girls of their own princely time during the Christmas holidays? Oh no …. Just do not overdo! Choose a sweater that will shine, a skirt a small hair pin, but not all at once. If you choose the light and glitter on the over, hold the under with sober and vice versa. Even some small diamond on the shoe may be nice in this period, with moderation, anyway .
  

• LE BALLERINE IN VELLUTO, le trovo davvero carine e perfetto per il tuo (e quello della tua bambina) lovely Christmas. Sceglile nei colori BLU o BORDEAUX e le potrai abbinare davvero con tutto. Bellissime anche con i jeans ed un maglioncino in tinta. Perfette per il look di Natale e con abitini in maglia. Se le prendi BLU abbinale con il NERO ed il risultato sarà super chic.
• THE VELVET BALLERINAS SHOES, I find them really cute and perfect for your (and of your child’s one) lovely Christmas. Choose them in the BLUE or BURGUNDY colors and you will really match them with everything. They are wonderful also with jeans and a sweater in tone. Perfect with the Christmas look and with a knitted dresses. If you take the BLUE ones, match them with the BLACK and the result will be super chic.
  

NO TO:

• LE PIUME. Non vorrei aggiungere altro, ma lo faccio. NO ALLE PIUME PER LE BAMBINE. PUNTO. Aggiungo solo che se vuoi trovare un qualcosa di sfizioso e divertente per il periodo natalizio, stai lontana dalle piume. Opta per le pailettes, per le rouches, per una spilla grande e piena di luce, per un cerchietto divertente.
• THE FEATHERS. I would not say more, but I do. NO TO THE FEATHERS FOR GIRLS. THAT’S ALL. I would only add that if you want to find something tasty and fun for the Christmas season, stay away from the feathers. Opts for sequins, for ruffles, for a large and full of light brooch, for a funny hair band.
  

• IL DAMASCATO, nonostante abbia visto in giro abiti quasi eterei e damascati e, nonostante mi piacciano i toni dell’oro, del bordeaux e di tutte le tonalità nelle quali il damascato viene realizzato, non mi piace questo tipo di stampa per le bambine. In realtà non mi fa impazzire nemmeno per noi mamme, ma con qualche accorgimento, lo trovo passabile (di questo, però, ne parleremo in un altro momento). No, quindi, a vestiti imperiali o a pantaloni troppo in “evidenza” per le nostre ragazze. Al limite una sciarpa o un paio di slippers, da abbinare, comunque, a look informali e molto easy. Sì alle decorazioni per l’albero!!
• THE DAMASK STYLE, despite having seen around many ethereal dresses and in the damask style, and although I like the tones of gold, burgundy and every shade in which the damask is made, I do not like this type of print for girls. In fact I’m not crazy even for us moms, but with some changes, I find it passable (about this, however, we’ll talk at another time). No, then, to imperial clothes or pants too  in “evidence” for our girls. Maybe a scarf or a pair of slippers, to be used, however, in an informal and very easy look. Yes to the tree decorations.
  

• I CALZINI CON LA GONNA, è vero che è Natale e che la maggior parte delle feste e delle cene si svolgeranno in casa con camini accesi, riscaldamento e tanta gente, ma è sempre vero che basta davvero poco per prendere una bella bronchite (noi lo sappiamo bene, Fiammetta è sempre malata e, credimi, non ha mai indossato calzini sotto la gonna). Esistono tantissimi tipi di comode, calde e meravigliose calze. Acquistane un paio e copre quelle povere coscine fredde e con le vene in evidenza. Ormai Settembre è finito, il Back to School è fatto. Il Natale e la neve sono tutta un’altra questione.
  
• THE SOCKS AND THE SKIRT, it is true that it’s Christmas time and that most of the parties and dinners will be held inside the house with fireplaces, heating and a lot of people, (as we well know, Fiammetta is always ill and, believe me, he never wore socks under her skirt). There are many types of comfortable, warm and wonderful tigths. Buy a pair and covers those poor little legs that are cold and with veins in evidence. September is almost over, Back to School is done. Christmas and the snow are another matter.

SON

(per chi, come la sorella,ama il Natale, un pò meno le decorazioni, molto i regali e per niente lo “sbrilluccichio”  – for those who, like the sister, love the Christmas, a little less the decorations, a lot the gifts and not at all the glittering)

YES TO:

• I PIUMINI COLORATISSIMI, mi piacciono davvero tantissimo per i maschietti, ancora di più che per le femmine. Li trovo divertenti, allegri e adatti ad ogni look. Anzi, proprio perchè spesso per un maschio non è facile osare con il colore, opta per un super piumino colorato. Abbinalo con tutto, anche il tuo outfit più chic (non esagerare mai con il maschio, ricordalo) e vivi serena il vostro lovely Christmas. 
• THE COLOURED DOWN JACKET, I really like it a lot for the boys, even more than for females. I find them funny, cheerful and suitable for any look. Indeed, precisely because it is often not easy daring with color with your boy, opt for a super colorful down jacket. Match it with everything, even with your most chic outfit (do not overdo with the male, ok?) and live paecefully your lovely Christmas.

• IL ROSSO, adorabile per il tuo piccolo uomo. Dunque, vediamo…che ne dici di un bel maglioncino rosso da abbinare ai jeans o ad un paio di pantaloni grigi? E di una camicia rossa da abbinare ad una giacca di panno e ad un paio di pantaloni scuri in jersey? E di un piumino rosso, da abbinare con tutto? E, perchè no, di un paio di scarpe rosse? No, forse le scarpe rosse sono un pò troppo. Ecco, solo alcune idee per il rosso a Natale. Osa, dai!!!
• THE RED, adorable for your little man. So, let’s see … how about a nice red sweater to match with jeans or a pair of gray pants? And what about a red shirt to match with a cloth jacket and a pair of dark jersey pants? And a red down jacket, worn with everything? And, why not, a pair of red shoes? No, maybe the red shoes are a bit too much. Here are just a few ideas for red at Christmas. Dare, come on!
  

• I PANTALONI DI VELLUTO, cosa di meglio di un paio di pantaloni di velluto senza tempo in questo periodo di festa? A me piacciono un sacco, ma, chiaramente, con qualche precisazione. I pantaloni di velluto vanno un pò “sdrammatizzati”, non abbinarli a giacche o a mocassini, ok? Io li adoro con la camicia in denim, una t-shirt sotto un cardigan in lana grossa, girati in fondo e le sneakers (o le Timberland). Troppo carini….Se ti servono per un look più formale abbinali ad un paricollo con sotto una t-shirt e ad un paio di clarks.
• THE CORDUROY TROUSERS, what could be better than a pair of corduroy and timeless trousers in this holiday season? I like them a lot, but, of course, with some clarification. The corduroy trousers must be “played down”, do not combine them with jackets or moccasins, okay? I love them with a denim shirt, a t-shirt under, a cardigan in thick wool, turned over at the bottom and sneakers (or Timberland). Too cute …. If you need them in a more formal look, match them with a crewneck sweater, a t-shirt under and a pair of Clarks.
  

NO TO:

• IL MINI SMOKING, li ho visti, sai!!?? E parecchi ne ho visti, purtroppo!! Credi davvero che il tuo bambino sarà a suo agio, o comodo, o alla moda con uno smoking da indossare il giorno di Natale o durante questo periodo?? Io no, ma non siamo tutti uguali… Trovo che ci siamo molti modi per rendere il tuo bambino alla moda e anche libero di essere un bambino. Se proprio non resisti, abbina i pantaloni ad una felpa senza cappuccio e la giacca….la giacca….ti direi con i jeans e le sneakers, ma credo che sia troppo lo stesso.
• THE MINI SMOKING, I have seen them, you know!!?? And I’ve seen several of them, unfortunately! Do you really think your child will be at ease, or comfortable, or stylish with a tuxedo to wear on Christmas Day or during this period? I do not, but we are not all equal … I find that there are many ways to make your baby fashionable and also free to be a child. If you just can not resist, match the pants with a sweatshirt and the jacket …. the jacket …. I’d say with jeans and sneakers, but I think it’s too much the same.
  

• IL GILET, a cosa serve?? Per rifinire un look? Noooo. Per tenere caldo? Noooo. Per sembrare eleganti? Noooo. Allora non lo acquistare dai. Opta per un bel maglioncino (con le maniche), o per una felpa. Se hai già commesso il fatto, abbinalo con un maglioncino sotto (e non sopra), un foulard ed i chino pants. Almeno credo….
• THE VEST, what is it? Is it to refined a look? Noooo. Is it to keep warm? Noooo. Is it to look stylish? Noooo. Then do not buy it. Go for a nice sweater (with sleeves), or a sweatshirt. If you’ve already committed the act, match it with a sweater underneath (and not above), a scarf and chino pants. At least I think….

• IL PAPILLON, lo so che te l’ho già detto un milione di volte, ma vorrei che fosse ben CHIARO, specialmente nel periodo di Natale. NO AL PAPILLON!!! Non fa festa, non fa eleganza, non fa moda, non fa niente…..TI PREGO. Continuo a vedere in giro bambini rivestiti con al collo un trionfale papillon (nero per giunta) e continuo a vedere in giro quegli stessi bambini che vorrebbero strapparselo dal collo e legarci insieme entrambe le caviglie della mamma. Scegli un bel foulard, un bel cappello di lana, e, perchè no, una bella spilletta, ma lascia a casa il papillon, anzi toglilo di mezzo, non vorrei mai lo trovasse tuo marito e lo indossasse lui.
• THE BOW TIE, I know I’ve already said it a million times, but I would like it to be very CLEAR, especially at Christmas time. NO TO THE BOW TIE! It does not holiday, it does not elegance, it does not fashion, it does not do anything ….. PLEASE. I keep seeing children around with the neck covered with a triumphant bow tie (even in black) and I still see around those same children who would like to wrest it from their neck and to bind both mom’s ankles together. Choose a nice scarf, a nice wool hat, and, why not, a nice brooch, but leave the bow tie at home, or rather, get rid of it, maybe your husband could find and wear it.

Un ultimo consiglio per TUTTI: RESPIRA IL NATALE ed ASSAPORA l’atmosfera. CREA qualcosa di unico con e per il tuo BAMBINO, magari un bel maglioncino fatto a mano, una decorazione per il vostro albero, qualche biscotto. AIUTALO a capire che quello che ha dentro è più dell’ultimo giubbotto alla moda e DAGLI UNA MANO per essere DAVVERO ALLA MODA ed in ARMONIA con il NATALE.

One last tip for ALL: BREATHE CHRISTMAS and TASTE the atmosphere. CREATE something unique for and with your CHILD, maybe a nice knitted sweater, a decoration for your tree, some cookies. HELP HIM to understand that what’s inside him is more than the last fashionable jacket and HELP HIM to be REALLY STYLISH and in HARMONY with the CHRISTMAS.
