(per chi, come me, ha bisogno di sentirsi comoda, calda ed in armonia con il periodo autunnale – for those who, like me,needs to feel comfortable, warm and in harmony with the autumn period)

IL NEOPRENE, hai presente quella gomma, usata per le mute subacquee, con la quale, ultimamente, vengono prodotti capi di abbigliamento di ogni forma e varietà?? Ecco, io LO ADORO. Adoro come veste (mantenendo tagli hi-tec), adoro come cade ed adoro il fatto che riscaldi anche (io sono una freddolosa). In più adoro il fatto che possiamo anche “permettercelo” il NEOPRENE, visto che un capo di “gomma” ha, chiaramente, un prezzo inferiore rispetto ai comuni materiali “preziosi”. La mia gonna e la mia felpa in NEOPRENE di MSGM troneggiano fiere nel mio armadio…Da abbinare davvero con tutto. P.S.: Il lo indosso anche per appuntamenti formali di lavoro, magari con una classicissima camicia bianca.

THE NEOPRENE, you know that gum, used for diving suits, with which, ultimately, are produced clothing of all shapes and varieties? Behold, I LOVE IT. I love how it dresses (keeping hi-tec cuts), I love how it fits, and I love the fact that it is even warm (I am a chilly). Plus I love the fact that we can “afford” the NEOPRENE, as a piece of “rubber” has, of course, a lower price than common “precious” fabrics. My skirt and my sweatshirt in NEOPRENE by MSGM dominate in my closet … To be combined with really everything. PS: I wear it also for formal meetings at work, perhaps with a very classical white shirt.
- I PANTALONI AMPI e ALLA CAVIGLIA, i classici CROPPED, cioè corti alla caviglia. Quei pantaloni che sembrano una gonna, ma che mantengono la comodità propria del pantalone. A me piacciono neri e molto larghi, di una lunghezza sopra la caviglia e con i passanti in vita. Da abbinare con DR MARTENS basse, magari colorate (le hai viste quelle oro??). Sopra una giacca dal taglio maschile, che, anche se non riequilibra proprio le dimensioni, a me piace tantissimo!!
- THE LARGE CROPPED TROUSERS, the classic CROPPED, that are trousers with a length at the ankle. Those trousers look like a skirt, but they keep the convenience of the pants. I like them in blacks and very wide, with a length above the ankle and belt loops. Match them with low DR MARTENS, maybe colored (have you seen those in gold?). Over a jacket with a boy cut, which, although it does not rebalance the proportions of the outfit, I love it so much!

IL RIGORE E LE MAXI FORME, in un periodo di super stampe, tartan, borchie e “di tutto di più è meglio”, io sto attraversando il classico periodo “less is better”!! Ho voglia di MINIMAL, di RIGORE, di FORME ABBONDANTI, di NERO, di HI-TEC, di vestiti MINIMALI. Trovare COS a Firenze è stato trovare tutto questo. Tra qualche giorno forse mi passerà questo desiderio di bon-ton, allora mi vedrai in giro con stampe colorate anche sulle calze….

THE SEVERITY AND THE MAXI SHAPES, in a period of incredible prints, tartan, studs and “more is better,” I’m going through the classic period “less is better”! I want to MINIMAL, to SEVERITY, to MAXI SHAPES, to BLACK, to HI-TEC, to MINIMAL dresses. Finding COS in Florence was finding all this. In a few days maybe I’ll get over this desire for bon-ton, then you’ll see me walking around with colorful prints also on socks….
NO TO:
- IL BEANIE, ovvero quella specie di cappellino a cuffia in lana, o simil lana, usato in malo modo da molte. Ma molte!! Messo un pò di traverso, lasciando spuntare ad arte un ciuffo o una frangetta (ore ed ore di preparazione per farlo sembrare casualmente appoggiato) non ha nessuna utilità. Hai freddo?? Calzalo in modo corretto, giù fino alle orecchie. Vuoi essere alla moda a tutti i costi?? Indossa un bel cappello a tesa larga.
- THE BEANIE, or that sort of hat wool cap, or like wool, used in the wrong way by many. But many! It is worn a little askew, leaving a tuft or fringe check artfully (hours and hours of preparation to make it look casually leaning) and it has no utility. Are you cold? Wear it correctly, down to the ears. Do you want to be fashionable at all costs? Wearing a nice a wide brimmed hat.
- I PANTALONI TARTAN ROSSI, non mi piacciono proprio per noi mamme. Vanno bene per i bambini, ma per noi no. Ok per un vestitino in tartan rosso (meglio corto da portare con biker boots). Ok per una giacca in tartan rosso (magari con inserti neri e da portare rigorosamente con il nero). Ok per un bel foulard in tartan rosso (da abbinare a tutto). Ma no ai pantaloni tartan rossi, sono davvero esagerati. Se proprio vuoi un paio di pantaloni a quadri, scegli una colorazione diversa. Sfondo marrone o blu (molto belli ed eleganti).
- THE RED TARTAN TROUSERS, I do not really like them for us moms. They are good for children, but they are not for us. Ok for a red tartan dress (preferably short to wear with biker boots). Ok for a jacket in red tartan (perhaps with black inserts and to match strictly with black). Ok for a nice red tartan scarf (to match with everything). But no to red tartan trousers, they are really exaggerated. If you really want a pair of checked pants, choose them in a different color. Brown or blue background (very beautiful and elegant).
- GLI STIVALETTI CON APERTURE LATERALI, non so se hai mai visto quegli stivaletti (ankle boots) neri con tacco basso, con le aperture laterali. Si chiamano “CUT-OUT” e grandi marchi, già da qualche anno, li hanno lanciati sulle passerelle. Io li lancerei proprio….scusa, ma non mi piacciono proprio. Li puoi trovare ovunque, anche nei negozi low-cost, ma non li acquisterei nemmeno per sfizio. Difficili da portare se non hai le gambe lunghissime magre, difficile anche da abbinare. Se proprio non hai resistito e li hai comprati, metti sotto un calzino nero e pesante..
- THE CUT OUT ANKLE BOOTS, I do not know if you’ve ever seen those boots (ankle boots) blacks with a low heel, with side openings. They are called “CUT-OUT” and amazing brands, since some years, launched them on the runway. I would launch them too…. sorry, but I really do not like them. You can find them everywhere, even in low-cost stores, but I’d not purchase them evenfor fun. It is not easy to wear them if you do not have skinny and very long legs and it is also difficult to match them. If you just can not resist and you have bought them, put it under a black and heavy sock..
DAUGHTER
(per chi, come Fiammetta, vuole essere calda, alla moda ed in armonia con l’autunno –for those who, like Fiammetta, wanst to be warm, stylish and in keeping with the autumn)
YES TO:
- LA TUTA, quella intera intendo. La trovo molto carina e la trovo adatta anche alle più piccole. Meglio se corta, così da abbinare sotto una calza colorata o un paio di leggings. La trovi ovunque, anche nei negozi low-cost. Io opterei per quella in tinta unita, meglio se nera (colorata sarebbe un pò troppo). Vedrai che sarà di gran moda anche la prossima Primavera/Estate.
- THE OVERALL. I find it very cute and I find it also suits for the little girls. Better if palysuit, so as to match under a colorful sock or a pair of leggings. You can find it everywhere, even in low-cost stores. I would opt for that solid colored, preferably in black (the colored overall would be a bit too much). You’ll see that it will be all the rage again next Spring/Summer.
- LA GONNA TUTU’, ancora di gran moda, nonostante lo sia già da un pò. Per questo inverno usala anche come SOTTOGONNA con sopra una gonna più sportiva (magari in lana o in cotone) ed anfibi. La tua bambina sarà perfetta e si sentirà un pò speciale. Per un’occasione usala da sola ed abbina una maglia liscia, lineare, rigorosa. Le stringate completeranno il look
- THE TUTU’ SKIRT, still all the rage, even though it already for a while. For this winter use it as a PETTICOAT with a sporty skirt above (maybe in wool or in cotton) and boots. Your little girl will be perfect and you she will feel a little bit special. For a special occasion use it alone and match it with a smooth, linear, rigorous tee. The lace-ups will complete the look.
- GLI STIVALI, tipo DR MARTENS, o qualcosa del genere, ma solo per le più grandi (sopra 5 anni), perchè sono realmente un pò duri. Li trovo, comunque, meravigliosi, divertenti, alla moda e da abbinare con tutto, anche con dei look eleganti. Per bambine dai 5 agli 8 anni puoi sceglierli anche in fantasia, dopo meglio di un colore unico.
- THE BOOTS, as DR MARTENS, or something like that, but only for bigger (over 5 years), because they are actually a little hard. I, however, find them wonderful, funny, stylish and to match with everything, even with the elegant look. For girls aged 5 to 8 years old you can choose them even in some prints, after 8 it is better in a solid color.
NO TO:
- IL VELLUTO, io ci provo. Giuro. Li guardo e li riguardo quei sontuosi vestiti in velluto ed ho provato anche a comprarli un paio di pantaloni in velluto. Ma sono rimasti nell’armadio. Non riesco ad apprezzare il velluto. Lo vedo che è un bel materiale, ma non lo vedo indosso alla mia bambina. Magari mi sbaglio, ma non lo trovo comodo, nè pratico, nè in armonia con il periodo autunnale. Forse per la montagna.…
- THE VELVET, I try. I swear. I look so many times at those dresses in sumptuous velvet, and I also tried to buy a pair of velvet trousers. But they remained in the closet. I can not appreciate the velvet. I see it is a beautiful fabric, but I do not see my baby wearing it. Maybe I’m wrong, but I do not find it comfortable or practical, or in harmony with the autumn period. Maybe for the mountain….

LE GIACCHE CORTE, nel momento del CROPPED, no al corto per le bambine. Capi inutili, senza utilizzo, giusto per fare la moda. I bambini non ne hanno bisogno. Non tengono caldo, lasciano scoperta la pancia e impediscono anche i movimenti. Sì alla giacca, ma lunga ed in panno o in lana, da portare come una felpa o con sopra un piumino senza maniche, finchè non sarà troppo freddo.

THE CROPPED JACKET, in the moment of CROPPED, I say no to it for girls. Useless garments, with no use, just for fashion. Children do not need it. They are not warm, they leave uncovered the belly and they also prevent all the movements. Yes to the jacket, but long and in cloth fabric or in wool, to be worn as a sweater or with a sleeveless down-jacket, until it will not be too cold.
- IL CAPPOTTO DI PELLICCIA, se proprio vivi in Russia, o ne ne puoi fare a meno, opta per un giubbotto o un piumino che abbia la pelliccia all’interno. Non lasciare che la tua bambina vada in giro con un ermellino addosso, sarebbe davvero troppo. Penso davvero che le pellicce non siano assolutamente un capo adatto alle bambine, nemmeno quando sono sintetiche, ma capisco che, in alcuni casi, possano essere davvero calde e confortanti. Se vivi in città mediamente fredde, comunque, credo tu possa farne a meno. Le alternative sono davvero infinite (ci sono dei tessuti tecnici adesso che riscaldano più delle pelli)

THE FUR COAT, if you live in Russia, or you really can do without it, opt for a jacket or a down jacket that has the fur inside. Do not let your child go around wearing an ermine, it would be just too much. I really think that the furs are not absolutely a garments suitable for children, even when they are synthetic, but I understand that, in some cases, they can be really warm and comforting. If you live in average cold cities, however, I believe that you can do without it. The alternatives are endless (there are now technical fabrics that heat up more of the fur)

(per chi, come la sorella, vuole sentirsi bene, in tono con la natura e anche un pò alla moda – for those who, like the sister, wants to feel good, in tune with nature and a bit trendy)

I CALZINI SOPRA I PANTALONI, sì, quei calzini pesanti, colorati e divertentissimi. Mi piacciono un sacco. Falli indossare al tuo bambino con pantaloni di ogni genere (NO I JEANS) e con stivaletti stringati. Lui sarà alla moda, comodo e si sentirà davvero “maschio”. Se vuoi rendere il look un pò più chic, aggiungi una giacca in lana ed un cardigan.

THE SOCKS OVER THE TROUSERS, yes, those heavy, colorful and fun socks. I like them a lot. Make your baby male wear them with all kinds of pants (NO THE JEANS) and laced boots. He will be stylish, comfortable and he will feel really “a male”. If you want to make the look a little more chic, add a wool jacket and a cardigan.

UN PAIO DI PANTALONI VERDI, sono così specifica, perchè ne ho visti tanti in giro e, se avessi un maschio, ne avrei già acquistati un paio (o due). In realtà li ho acquistati anche per Fiammetta, ma questa è un’altra storia….. Li trovo davvero adattissimi all’autunno e perfetti con ogni colore. Come sai VERDE e BLU è ormai d’obbligo, ma a me il VERDE piace tantissimo anche con il marrone o con il giallo. Perfetti con ogni tipo di scarpa e con un cappotto nero.

A PAIR OF GREEN TROUSERS, I’m so specific, because I have seen many of green pants around, and if I had a male, I would have already bought a pair (or two) of them. In fact I bought them for Fiammetta, but that’s another story ….. I find them really highly suited to autumn and perfect with any color. As you know, GREEN and BLUE is now a must, but I also really like the GREEN with brown or yellow. Perfect with any type of shoe and with a black coat.

IL MONTGOMERY, non riesce proprio a passare di moda!!! Io lo trovo sempre meraviglioso, classico, elegante, perfetto per un maschietto alla moda e che voglia sentirsi davvero un piccolo principe. Il look jeans, t-shirt bianca, scollo a V, sneakers e MONTGOMERY non è sempre affascinante?? Adesso più che mai….

THE MONTGOMERY, it just can not go out of style!! I find it always wonderful, classic, elegant, perfect for a boy who wants to be trendy and really would like to feel a little prince. The jeans, white t-shirt, V-neck, sneakers and MONTGOMERY look is not always attractive? Now more than ever ….

LO STILE MILITARE, il total look intendo. Sì per alcuni capi CAMOUFLAGE, ma abbinati a tinte unite ed a capi classici. No al total look militare, magari anche con alcuni placchette … perfetti i pantaloni sportivi CAMO, meglio in felpa da abbinare con sneakers sobrie e con un cardigan blu.

THE MILITARY STYLE, the total look I mean. Yes to some CAMOUFLAGE clothes, but matched with solid colors and classic garments. No total look camouflage, maybe even with some military tags … the sporty CAMO pants are perfect, maybe in fleece to match with sober sneakers and a blue cardigan.

LE FELPE CON CAPPUCCIO, in tempo di FELPA che sostituisce benissimo il golfino e che diventa un capo anche elegante e raffinato, dico NO alle felpe con cappuccio. Continuano ad andare benissimo per le attività sportive, ma per il resto sono ormai passate e anche scomode. Danno fastidio sotto il grembiule all’asilo e sono anche un pò ingombranti. Scegline una senza cappuccio (le trovi ovunque ed a tutti i prezzi) ed abbinale con tutto, davvero tutto.
- HOODED SWEATSHIRTS, in time of SWEAT to replace the sweater so well and of SWEAT that becomes also an extremely elegant and refined garments, I say NO to hooded sweatshirt. It continues to be ok for sports activities, but in the other occasions they have already gone by and they are even uncomfortble. They bother under the apron at the kindergarten and they are also a bit bulky. Buy one without hood (they are available everywhere and at all prices) and match it with everything, really with everything.

LA CAPPA O LA MANTELLA, vi ho viste, care mamme di maschi, venire travolte da una meravigliosa, avvolgente, assolutamente inutile CAPPA. Non lo comprerei per me, figuriamoci per il mio bambino. Eppure vi ho viste…ed ho visto anche quelle piccolissime creature morire di caldo con super mantelle tutte avvolte al corpo in un mese in cui ci sono stati almeno 30 gradi, o morire di freddo con le cappe a sostituire il giaccone nelle poche ore in cui ha fatto davvero freddo. Adesso sta per arrivare l’inverno. La cappa non serve. Risparmia i soldi ed acquista un bel piumino o un parka che terranno caldo il tuo bambino fino ad aprile.

THE CAPE, I saw you, dear mom of males, be swept away by a wonderful, enveloping, absolutely useless CAPE. I’d not buy it for me, let alone for my child. Yet I have seen you… and I’ve also seen those tiny creatures die of heat with super capes all wrapped the body in a month in which there were at least 30 degrees, or die in the cold with capes to replace the jacket in the few hours in which it was really cold. The winter is coming. The cape is not needed. Save the money and buy a nice jacket or a parka that will keep your child warm until April.

Un ultimo consiglio per TUTTI: fai che il tuo bambino si senta in ARMONIA con questa natura che muta, che si trasforma, che LASCIA PIU’ SPAZIO. Più spazio per vedere meglio, per stare più vicini, per sentirci una FAMIGLIA. In autunno ci si ritrova, ci si osserva un pò di più. Tu OSSERVA la tua magica creatura e sarà una NUOVA, UNICA ESPERIENZA sempre alla MODA.
One last tip for ALL: make sure your child feels in HARMONY with this nature that changes, which turns, which LEAVES MORE SPACE. More space to see better, to be closer, to feel a FAMILY.
